Derek Prince
The following article is a reprint of
the main body of a letter written to Pete Sumrall and the Staff at LeSEA
Broadcasting Network, that tells of my appreciation of their TV Broadcasts
of several teaching sessions by Derek Prince. To those of you who
weren't involved in the early years of the Jesus People / Charismatic
Renewal, Derek Prince was one of those men who made great teaching
contributions to the movement . He is known primarily for his
"healing" and "deliverance" expertise.
Prior to his teaching ministry, while
in the British Army stationed in the Middle East, he contracted an
incurable skin condition, and laid in an Egyptian hospital for a year.
It was during that time while intensely studying the scriptures that he
gained faith that God could heal him. And so, God did, and
Derek walked out of there, a permanently healed man, and this was the beginning of
his very successful ministry. At that point in time 'miracle healing'
and 'deliverance from our spiritual enemy' were largely unknown, but these
were subjects crucial to the progress of the movement, and God used Derek
'heavily' in those teaching capacities. In his final years Derek ministered in
Israel, prior to entering heavens Glories in 2003.
The reason for my letter, however, is
... two profound remarks made by Derek during two different TV
presentations. Statements that were theologically ahead of His/his
time, but that are very applicable to today's spirit-filled Believers
... if and when they are correctly understood. Without further ado, I'll let the
letter take it from here...

Derek Prince and the
Final Chapter:

Greetings, in the name of our fabulous
Savior Yeshua / Jesus, and our
fabulous God. Derek was a teacher
that we dearly loved, and we're grateful to hear him once again via the
LeSEA weekly TV broadcasts. It's a voice out of our youthful
past. However, this letter is prompted by certain previously unnoticed
statements that Derek made, and the revealing explanations that I will give
it. But first, please indulge me as I briefly reminisce about Derek.

Derek's Spiritual Input
on Our Lives:

| Many of us who came
thru the Jesus People / Charismatic Renewal that began in 1967 were blessed
by his teaching. We spiritually fed ourselves on his articles ( and
those of his associates) in their "New Wine" Magazine. But Derek
didn't confine his teaching to 'writing' ... he also wanted his readers to
personally view God's power. I remember the time that he held a small
meeting in the O'Hare Field (Chicago) area. He would have everyone
gather around, up close, so they could be right there to view the impending
miracle. And, it happened ... God stepped in and everyone saw the
person's limb restored. That was Derek Prince ... a caring person who
fit perfectly into the atmosphere of those early Jesus People days. In
retrospect, I would say that we all bonded to him. Greatly encouraged
by all this, we put it into practice among ourselves and continued to see
God perform miracles. Derek was truly one of the well qualified
persons that God used to 'kick-start' the 1967 Charismatic Renewal. |
But,
although a pioneer on the subjects of "healing" and
"deliverance", I didn't know him to teach "spiritual
advancement" in any specifically different way. The subject of
spiritual progression within the 3 Glories of Heaven was entirely unknown
during Derek's life-time, and is only now being brought to light, that the
Latter Rain "Elect" may finish the course. Derek obviously
wasn't called to document and teach this subject, although his eyes were
opening to it ...

Derek's Two Profound
Statements:

In recent months, on 2
separate LeSEA TV broadcasts, Derek made two profound statements.
-
Derek stated that the
"Bride" was not all of the Believers.
-
He said that when the
day had arrived that he could call God "Father", that he had
"come home". Prior to that, though, he said that he knew
that he was "saved."
These are truths that
relate to God's Triple Glory Kingdom ... and as such they can not be
correctly explained via our current "One Glory Gospel of the
16th Century." These are two of the truths that have been denied
the Believers, because of our incomplete post-reformation theology.
These truths relate to the "goal" set before the Spirit-filled
Believers. These truths are so important, that they even explain a
critical issue of the rapture ... who gets taken. These are a
few of the truths that you, also, will realize once you understand:
1) the triple-Glory Floor Plan of Heaven and 2) the
Glory-Specific terminology of the scriptures. These
same truths had unfolded to me as I studied God's word to verify "the 3
Glories" that He had revealed to me. It's very significant that
later, these two revelations also came to Derek, the man whom many consider to be one
of the most influential teachers of the 20th Century. He didn't become
a pioneer, world-changing teacher, by unquestioningly accepting all the
'static' denominational doctrines ... ie. 'the One Glory Gospel of the 16th
Century'. His 2 remarks totally agree with "the 3 Glories of
Heaven", and the 3 distinctly different 'relationships-to-God'. I
view him as a true Charismatic ... always open to the possibility that God
has more for us. Furthermore, the identity of the Bride is critical to
understanding the "partial-rapture", when Yeshua appears.
Our Website waltdumont.org lists 5 main events that will occur at
Mid-Tribulation. Click: "Daniels 70 Time Chart".
Event 1) the Prudent Virgins enter the 3rd Glory. Matt. 25:1-13 Prudent,
as opposed to the Lukewarm 'Foolish Spirit-filled Believers' who mis-used
their oil. With
those 2 enlightened statements, Derek spoke from the viewpoint of the 3rd
Glory, wherein his walk with God had taken him ... but a 'theological wall'
would prevent him from being able to scripturally explain it. And,
probably because Derek said no more about it, he didn't rattle any
theological cages. Had he shown, via the scriptures, that the
"Bride" is only a small percentage of Believers, he certainly
would have gone against the grain of contemporary 1-Glory theology. Beginning in 1517, God
has been sequentially restoring the details of Moses Tabernacle ... the 3
Glories of Heaven ... and Derek's understandings were at the cutting edge of
the 'learning curve' ... actually, what God would restore next. How
has God been restoring? My experience was this: in 2000 He released me to go
public, and I've since been documenting, illustrating, scripturally proving,
and teaching via our Website ... "The Gospel of the Kingdom" ...
some of which Derek was becoming aware of.
And,
it's so wonderful to know that Derek entered into the Father's
presence. Although many parrot the religious cliché that they are
Sons, it doesn't count unless you've finished the race and personally know
His "approval". Derek had. It's where the Holy Spirit
'invitation-empowering', spiritual growth, testing, and intimate bonding
are 'intended' to take us ... into the Father's presence. It
lifts a burden, and been a pleasure to write you this letter ... to tell you
of my insight into one of the teachers that many hold in high esteem.
And, interesting thing about this letter ... I feel that I'm co-authoring
with Derek to embellish his last, previously unfinished teaching to
us. He taught us: healing, deliverance, wrote about entering God's
presence, and then, in his very quiet way, he even let us know that he
crossed the finish line. That was his final chapter. Thank
you for replaying those ageless teaching tapes, and those of your father
Lester Sumrall. I'm all for getting back to their preaching / teaching
style ... relaxed, folksy, be yourself, show your deep down caring, and
teach the critical truths. Those two had the touch. My
wife and I vividly remember that evening with Derek, near O'Hare Field ...
and we're thankful to have been blessed by a great teacher and mentor who
helped thousands ... and in the process successfully finished the race,
himself. |
